The start of the 2009 Racing Season has proven to be an exciting adventure. Daytona race weeks saw some hard hits but Front Row Motorsports came out with a 19th place finish by John Andretti in the #34 Window World Chevrolet.

This season Front Row Motorsports has made some changes to the program. Tony Raines in the #34 Chevy (previously #24) will run a full Nationwide race schedule. Raines’ start at Daytona began with a great run in Saturday’s Nationwide race. Tony was running in the 11th spot when he hit the wall with only a few laps to go to the checkered flag. After hitting the wall, Tony fell back to the 31st position to finish the race. He also sat in the driver’s seat for the Cup Series #37 Long John Silver’s Dodge Charger and was in the field along with teammate John Andretti for the first of the Gatorade Duels. Andretti is once again in the driver’s seat for the Cup Series #34 Chevrolet. Working with crew chief Steve Lane, Andretti started the Daytona 500 in the 37th spot after qualifying 36th on speed finishing 25th in the first race of the Duels. The race was called on account of rain at lap 152; Andretti was credited with a 19th place finish.

  •  Eric McClure, driver of the No. 24 Hefty® brand Chevrolet quotes:

(On last weekend’s finish and effort by the Hefty® Racing Team)

“It was better than California, which is a step in the right direction.  The practice was better, qualifying was better, and the first part of the race was better. We fell off a bit during the race for some reason and lost some laps, but attrition gave us a good finish and points day.

(On his thoughts returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway after a disappointing debut)

“I’m ready to get back and try it again.  I see so much potential with my team and with myself that I need to keep getting back in the car and trying to get the laps that will help us get where we want to go over the course of this year and in 2009.”

Eric McClure/ No. 24 Hefty™ Brand Chevrolet Post Race Report: Camping World 300 Daytona International Speedway

Daytona Beach, FL (February 17, 2008)— Eric McClure, driver of the No. 24 Hefty® brand Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, had high hopes coming into the season opener at DIS after posting the 3rd fastest time in Friday’s final practice.  However, his hopes were shattered early on race day as his Chevrolet began to lose power and eventually encountered engine failure relegating him to a 34th-place position.

After qualifying 36th, the strategy for McClure and the Hefty® brand team was to stay patient and ride in the back of the pack until the later stages of the race.  However, by lap 5, McClure had lost the draft and informed the crew of a “wicked loose car” and “it feels like the motor is losing power.”  Crew chief Cal Boprey encouraged the driver to ride the problem out as long as possible and bring the car home safely.

After losing a lap to the race leader on lap 38, McClure brought the Hefty® brand Chevrolet to pit road under green flag conditions to receive four tires, fuel, and a chassis adjustment.  Upon returning to the track in the 39th position, McClure immediately informed the team that “the car has a vibration; it feels like I have a loose wheel.”  Once again, the No. 24 machine entered pit road where the crew tightened the lug nuts on all four tires and McClure re-entered the track in the 39th position, two laps down to the leader.

As the race progressed, problems continued to be an issue for McClure and the Hefty® Racing™  team.  McClure continued to monitor the engine and gauges inside the cockpit and report the status to the crew.  Finally, as McClure took the white flag, the engine began to fail, and the VA native killed the engine and took the checkered flag as he coasted down pit road, resulting in a 34th place finish in the Camping World 300.

    Eric McClure quotes:

“I’m very disappointed.  We had an awesome racecar in testing and in practice and we have nothing to show for it.  We just lost power early on and kept losing it throughout the race.  The oil pressure and rpm’s dropped severely and the oil temperature went way up. We ran wide open for 116 laps and couldn’t go anywhere.  It finally started locking up for good there at the end.”

“I hate it for everybody.  We had a lot of people here from Hefty® brand, Waverly Property Group and from the Chichester family.  We really wanted to do well for them and I’m just sorry we couldn’t get the finish the team deserved.  The positive thing is at least we were fast enough for once to warrant being disappointed.  Other than that, it was a good week for all of us.  Our cup guys made the 500 with Andretti and I was glad to have been a part of that.  We’ll try our part again next week and see what happens.”

    On joining Front Row Motorsports

“I’m very excited about joining Front Row Motorsports next season. Bob Jenkins is a great person, first and foremost. He has survived in the Cup Series season for over three years as a single-car team, which is remarkable, as well as serving proof that he has a passion for racing. I have driven for him on occasion in the past and he has a tremendous dedication to his team. On Hefty&® Brand returning as primary sponsor

“It’s a great privilege for me to have the opportunity to represent the Hefty&® brand again in 2008. The Hefty&® brand continues to be one of the country’s most respected brands and to have the opportunity to continue my relationship with their employees and consumers is personally very exciting. Fans have also really supported the entire Hefty&® Racing™ program this season, and I hope that they will continue to support the orange Hefty&® brand machine in the NASCAR Nationwide Series next year.” Bob Jenkins Quotes: “FRM is thrilled about the opportunity to partner with a talented driver like Eric McClure and a tremendous sponsor such as the Hefty&® Brand. We have been looking for the right opportunity to expand into the Nationwide Series, and we felt like this was the perfect situation for all parties involved. Notes:  This was Kevin's 200th career NASCAR NEXTEL Cup start.

    Race Run Down:

When the race started out the #37 Long John Silver's Dodge Avenger was headed in the right direction.  Kevin picked up a number of spots in the first couple of laps.

Unfortunately bad luck struck after the competition caution on lap 40.  After the pit stop Kevin said something wasn't right with the transmission.

After the 2nd caution on lap 116 Kevin dropped to the rear of the field because he had lost gears 1 and 2, and he didn't want to cause a pile up as he tried to get up to speed on the restart without the 1st 2 gears.

On the restart after the 3rd caution the transmission gave out completely and the team had to park the #37 Long John Silver's Dodge Avenger.

March 22, 2007 - FRONT ROW MOTORSPORTS TO FOCUS ON THE #37

Denver N.C. - Front Row Motorsports announced they will be focus primarily on the #37 Dodge for the reminder of the 2007 season and that the team still plans on running the #34 with a limited schedule.

''We would love to continue entering two cars each week, but in today’s climate, we feel that focusing on one car will give us our best shot at making races,'' said team owner Bob Jenkins. ''With the number of well-funded teams that are entered each week, it is very difficult for the independent teams such as ours to compete as a multi-car effort. I am proud that both of our teams have been very competitive and have been consistent in out qualifying teams with much larger budgets. As a team not in the top 35 it is not enough to be one of the 43 fastest cars each week. In order to race on Sunday over the last three races non-top 35 teams had to qualify 33, 32 and 31st respectively. At this point it’s not reasonable to expect our limited staff to be able to prepare two cars to qualify in the top 30 each week. We look forward to the reminder of the season and feel this change will give us the best opportunity to qualify for races.''

Front Row Motorsports is still actively seeking sponsorship for both cars for the 2007 season and beyond. Please contact 865-898-0946 for information about sponsorship opportunities. Additional information about Front Row Motorsports can be found at www.frontrowmotorsports.com.

Detoxify has been supplying the best in Detoxification products for nearly two decades. Their main objectives are to conduct research that you can count on and to develop products you can trust.

‘’We are excited about our partnership with Front Row Motorsports for the Daytona 500. We think NASCAR demographics is a great fit for Detoxify’’, said Jay Yager, Chief Operations Officer of Detoxify. ‘’We look forward to an exciting weekend of racing.’’

February 7, 2007 - FRONT ROW MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES 2007 PLANS

Denver N.C. -Front Row Motorsports (FRM) announced today they will run two (2) cars during the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season. FRM will run the #34 driven by Kevin Lepage with Randy Seals as the crew chief.

For the second FRM entry, team owner Bob Jenkins has formed a partnership with John Carter. The team will convert the 61 number from 2006 to the #37 for the 2007 season. The team has hired Bill Elliott to run a limited number of events, with Chad Chaffin slated to compete in the remainder of the schedule. Mark Tutor will serve as crew chief for the team.

NASCAR veteran Gere Kennon will be Director of Competition and oversee the efforts of both teams. Both teams will run Dodge Chargers powered by motors built by Ernie Elliott Inc.

"Given the increased level of competition this season, I could not be happier with the group of experienced professionals we have assembled", stated Jenkins. "I am excited about our driver line-up, and with the opportunity to partner with someone like John. In addition, our affiliation with Dodge has already paid dividends in testing and with car preparation. Obviously to compete at this level, sponsorship is essential to having a successful team. We currently have several associate sponsorships in place. However, we are continuing to pursue full-time primary sponsors for both teams. Our approach has always been to build a strong foundation so that a potential sponsor would see themselves as the only missing component to our success."

October 5, 2006 - FRONT ROW MOTORSPORTS LOOKS TO MAKE IT 5 IN A ROW

Denver N.C. – Front Row Motorsports heads to Talladega looking to make it five in a row. FRM has made the last four races dating back to Richmond, where they put two cars in the race field. This week at Talladega Chad Chaffin will drive the #61 Taco Bell Chevrolet and Kevin Lepage will pilot the #34 Oak Gloves Dodge.

“As an un-sponsored team it’s tough week in and week out to compete against teams with $10-$20 million dollar budgets. I credit our recent success to the guys working on the cars and the job drivers are doing behind the wheel. We have some great people in place, starting at the top with our two crew chiefs Gere Kennon and Randy Seals. I believe we have all the pieces in place to be successful week in and week out. If we can find a sponsorship partner that can see the tremendous benefits we have to offer, I believe we can be really competitive in 2007.” Commented team owner Bob Jenkins.

“I look forward to driving the Taco Bell car at Talladega,” said driver Chad Chaffin. “I appreciate Taco Bell coming on board for this race. The guys have done a great job getting this car ready and I’m confident we will have a strong showing this weekend.”

FRM is still looking for primary and associate sponsors for the reminder of 2006 and 2007. We are going to the track each week with or without sponsors, but it’s a shame to go un-sponsored when we know there are companies out there that can benefit from a partnership with our team. It’s just a matter of us finding them or them finding us.

This will mark the fourth Bristol race that Thompson Metal Services has adorned a Front Row Motorsports entry.  They were on the car for both races at the track last year and the spring race this season. August 5, 2006 - El Paso race car: Good news for city devastated

El Paso, Texas –Local business owner Gregg Jackson’s attempt to qualify a NASCAR race car from El Paso for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in Indianapolis has proven to be successful. The Race El Paso team qualified today for the nationally televised NASCAR race airing at noon (MST) on Sunday, August 6th on the NBC Television Network at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The celebration comes at a time when the city of El Paso is being pounded with flash flood warnings and has seen whole city neighborhoods evacuated due to house floods and the constant downpour of rain which has caused arroyos and one dam to overflow. Texas Gov. Rick Perry has asked President Bush to declare El Paso as a federal disaster area. That declaration should come some time next week.

On Thursday, 900 people were evacuated to the El Paso Convention Center because of heavy rainfall and damage to the area just south of Downtown El Paso. Those people were housed for 24 hours at the convention center while damage to their neighborhoods was evaluated and water levels receded. Friday evening an additional 600 people were evacuated from Central El Paso and outlying communities to shelters throughout the city.

“Chad (Chaffin) qualifying is a bit of good news for a community which has had a lot of tough hurdles this past week,” said Pifas Silva, Communications Manager for the El Paso Convention & Visitors Bureau.

NASCAR driver Chad Chaffin placed 25th out of 50 drivers. This is the first time the city of El Paso will receive exposure during a nationally televised NASCAR race. Gary Trout Autosports joined with FrontRow Motor Sports to prepare first-class NASCAR race cars for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.

The exposure in Sunday’s race will give the city of El Paso remarkable exposure in one of the largest single-day sporting events in the world. The car (which features a smiling chili pepper and sunburst on the hood with the words “El Paso – Sun, Salsa, Smiles”) will be a 3,400 lbs., 825+ horse-powered “billboard” on wheels for El Paso, Texas. “Giving us a sense of pride for the city we proudly call home,” said Silva.

August 3, 2006 - FRONT ROW MOTORSPORTS AND RACE ELPASO TEAM UP FOR INDY

Front Row Motorsports and driver Chad Chaffin are set to team up with Race El Paso, the race team based out of El Paso, Texas owned by Gregg and Ryan Jackson to attempt the Brickyard 400 at Indy. The Jacksons nearly made it in 2004, when Geoff Bodine drove the team's car to a qualifying run that put it one slot from earning its way into the Brickyard race. Last year Front Row missed the field by only two spots. The team is taking a Dodge with an engine that is built by Ernie Elliot, the brother of longtime NASCAR driver and semi-retired Bill Elliott, to Indianapolis. Still, the Jacksons and Jenkins know it won't be easy to get a car into a Nextel Cup race. "Our primary goal is to qualify," Ryan said. "Our second goal is to finish the race." July 23, 2006 - Front Row Motorsports responds to disqualification

After qualifying 38th for this weekend’s race at Pocono, The #61 Front Row Motorsports entry driven by Chad Chaffin was disqualified after a random post-qualifying inspection determined the car to be a quarter of an inch too low. This marks the first time in the history of the series that a competitor has been disqualified after successfully making a race field. Since the team must also forfeit at least $70,000 of purse winnings, this also becomes the largest financial penalty ever levied by NASCAR. The team requested, but was denied the opportunity to appeal NASCAR’s decision regarding the disqualification.

In recent years, roof-height violations have been met with fines ranging from $20,000-$35,000 and usually a 25 point reduction in owner and driver points. As violations have been discovered, teams were allowed to race and to earn points and purse money for the event. In 2005, Hendricks Motorsports earned a victory and nearly a half million dollars in purse winnings, despite the fact that the #48 team had failed a post race height inspection. In each case, penalties were handed out following the race weekend and the teams were afforded the opportunity to appeal the penalties prior to going them into effect.

Team owner Bob Jenkins released the following statement regarding the disqualification. “Our team is extremely disappointed in the series of events that took place at the track this weekend. I want to assure our fans and sponsors that we are committed to working within NASCAR’s guidelines to maintain the integrity of our race efforts. At no time this weekend, did anyone from our organization purposely attempt to circumvent those guidelines. We are unclear why NASCAR chose the course of action that they did. The penalty levied against our team does not seem to be consistent with previous penalties issued for similar offenses. This has left our team with a number of unanswered questions. We intend to meet with NASCAR to enable us to come to a better understanding of how they reached their decisions and find out what can be done to resolve this matter. I would like to thank our fans for their continued support and our team looks forward to the remainder of the season.”

JULY 6, 2006 - BLOUNT AND LONG IN FRONT ROW MOTORSPORTS ENTRIES THIS WEEK AT CHICAGOLAND

Denver N.C. - Chad Blount will drive the #61 Oak Gloves Dodge and Carl Long will drive the #34 Chevrolet for Front Row Motorsports this weekend at Chicagoland.

Front Row Motorsports driver Chad Chaffin is still in the fold at FRM, but has taken a full time ride in the #59 Harris Trucking Motorsports Truck in the Craftsman Truck Series. Due to scheduling conflicts he will be forced to miss three NEXTEL Cup starts for FRM.

"We were able to reach an agreement with Chad that allows him the freedom to pursue this opportunity in the Craftsman Truck Series while only missing three races for us." commented FRM owner Bob Jenkins. "This is an excellent opportunity for Chad that we didn't want to stand in the way off. It also gives us the opportunity to give more seat time to some other drivers and further allow us to evaluate our program."
